Seriously, lit?

A while back someone alerted me about The Very Big O being sold on some website I didn’t recognize. I checked it out and asked the people who ran it to remove the novella from their listings. Which they did.

Which was too bad, in a way.

You see, the site sold text books and literature that would likely be taught in high school or college English classes. And what writer hasn’t daydreamed about being taught in college English classes?

Student: Mr. Thome, is the Orgasmism an objective correlative intended to invoke the fundamental contradiction of our simultaneous exultation and fear of female sexual pleasure?

Me: No. It’s monster. A funny monster. And you used “exultation” when you meant “exaltation.”

Student: Really?

Me: Maybe. Look it up. That’s why the internet is there. I’m not a dictionary. I write funny books.

Having books listed on that website is probably as close as I’ll ever get to being listed alongside “Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.” Which is fine. All of my books are much easier to read. And you don’t have to take a class to understand them.

The Incompetent Witch and the Very Big O is available for preorder on Amazon thru April 4.
